Walla Walla Multisports

Course Information & Maps

All races start and finish at the Walla Walla Community College in the main parking lot adjacent to the Dietrich Activity Center (the gold dome).  The Half Marathon course will be routed on asphalt bike paths up to and then across the top of the Bennington Lake Dam.  From there, the course follows a trail down to Russell Creek Road then out and back on Russell Creek Road, back up to the top of the dam. The course then follows a gravel service road around the back side of the lake and out to the Rooks Park dam, across the wooden footbridge to the Rooks Park parking lot and back along the Mill Creek bike path back to the community college (see course maps). This is NOT a fast and flat course but has great views of the foothills of the Blue Mountains. IMPORTANT!! The course passes through a short section of private property between Bennington Lake Dam and Russell Creek Road which is NOT open to the public except for the race so please respect this and do not train on this portion of the course. The portion of the courses up to and around Bennington Lake as well as Russell Creek Road itlself are public property and are open for training runs.  Aid stations on the Half Marathon course will be located at Mile 2.3, 4.0, 5.7, 7.5 and 11.2.  All aid stations will have water, Heed and a porta-potty.

The 10K course follows the same course except for the portion from the top of the Bennington Lake Dam out and back on Russell Creek Road.  After crossing the Bennington Lake Dam, the 10K course follows the gravel service road around the back side of the lake and out to the Rooks Park dam, across the wooden footbridge to the Rooks Park parking lot and back along the Mill Creek bike path to the community college.  Aid stations on the 10K course will be located at Mile 2.3 and 4.2.

The courses will be clearly marked.  Please review the course maps.  It is the athlete’s responsibility to be familiar with and follow the course.
